Presentation of the Constance Institute of Process Control (kips)

The target-oriented management of business processes is one of the central management tasks in an organisation or an institution. This control can be carried out on different levels:

Governance - Who is responsible for decisions about the process?
Strategy - How should the process be designed on the long run?
Operational Control - Which key figures are most important? Which deviations from the target are there?
Execution - How can the realisation be coordinated?
Implementation - How can this process (step) be supported by IT?

Our experience in certain companies shows, that the integration of different layers of control provides a significant benefit. This is the starting point for the kips and layers are connected in an integrated model and a corresponding toolset.

During the application oriented research of the kips, guidelines, instruments and tools are developed, which help to implement this integration in the organisational practice.

This research generates a benefit for cooperating organisations and institutions:
They can get to know innovative techniques of process engineering and use them. Additionally, the students participate in our work at the institute. They learn about the connection of theory and organisational practice during exciting projects.
